STRAMA DAY 1: The exciting downhill has started

The wait is over. After being worried for days how my STRAMA class will be like, I finally got to attend my first session yesterday. It was the smallest class I ever had. We’re just 6 students and 1 was already absent. That’s the maximum he/she’ll get. Next time he does that he/she’ll be out. That’s our professor’s rule. Well actually, it’s the school’s but he’s so bent on implementing it. He stressed it quite clearly about this one rule: 30 minutes late and you will be considered absent. You can still attend the class but you’re absent still. That tough.

Contrary to feedbacks though, I find our professor quite interesting. Despite his age, he speaks with mastery and enthusiasm. He’s presented to the class a good structure and helpful templates for our final paper. And he doesn’t have an annoying mannerism. Period. So after hearing some horror stories from previous classmates, I think I already changed my impression of him. I may be wrong, but that’s my impression anyway. If only I can receive the confirmation from the company I’ve been waiting, then I’ll be more participative and will find more sense of the discussions.

Fortunately, I may have a couple of weeks more to wait for replies or to look for alternatives. I’m trying, and trying really hard, to keep a positive attitude about this waiting game. I’m reminding myself every now and then of this overused cliché, “everything happens for a reason.” It’s a desperate man’s cliché and I’m using it now. Abangan

I left the school last night with such unexplainable light feeling (If how many felt like this after a STRAMA class, I don’t know) that I decided to take a different way back home. So I took the SLEX with the main purpose of confirming if it’s a shorter route than my usual drive. The other purpose is just to drive fast and straight as I try to reflect on what will happen in the next weeks to come. How soon will I have a company as a subject matter? What will that company be? When are those towering flyovers above me get into operation? Nothing but questions flying around my head. Don’t worry I’m more focused in my driving when I do that. Believe me. Come to think of it, I now wonder how many did that before they got into an accident. Oh by the way, the SLEX trip is longer by 3 kilometers but it was enjoyable nonetheless.

After a year in the car’s trunk, I took my blue sling bag out and used it for school. It was given to me by my previous manager. It’s got an Intel logo on it.
