My seconds of fame…

I think I haven’t gotten over my ANC snafu that every time I see the very familiar logo I get some sort of jitters and gets reminded of what transpired during my first ever TV appearance. But it seems like my enthusiasm to be a participant of this coming automated election made me unable to escape this imposing ABS-CBN’s news group. In fact, my recent, and ongoing, active Twitter participation landed me again among their most active followers. How did I know? Well, on May 4 I received this direct message coming from one of their personnel asking me to send a 30-sec video. Here’s that DM:

My initial reaction was, “not again, this must be a joke…unless they’re a fan of the word, ACTUALLY.” So a couple days passed and after careful considerations, I opted not to participate anymore. I think I’ll cool off a bit before ANC lose several of its TV viewers while I lose a couple of friends. Yet then again this afternoon, after doing what has been a routine for me in the past weeks, I checked my Twitter and to my horror saw this tweet:

Although I know what it takes to be classified as a jejemon, I nevertheless got curious as this tweet looks a lot irrelevant to the election-related tweets they’ve been sending so far. And so I checked. It’s a video of a lady explaining something to TJ Manotoc, Ron Cruz & Ginger. In this video the guest seemed more on edge than I was, and she’s annoyingly saying the word “ah” a number of times. This got me more anxious to see what the rest of the video is about as I was expecting it to be a compilation of funny TV moments on Mornings @ ANC but thanks goodness it wasn’t….but I wasn’t convinced. A split-second later I was googling my name. Bingo! I saw this one.

They did after all publish a separate report of this event (that I forwarded to them) as part of their campaign to encourage citizen’s journalism. Nonetheless, this one appears better…although I still cannot personally convince myself why I became to be a BMPM patroller in the first place. Anyway, this coming Monday, election day, I’ve prepared myself to be one of those who will contribute, if possible, to the vigilance that is badly needed especially that people are now aware of the chances that the first Philippine automated election might not be as seamless as we all expect it to be.

I like the fact that my wife and son are mentioned on this report. And funny thing is that our son would actually mumble, “daddy, na na…no more” every time he sees that we’re watching Mornings @ ANC. My wife explained that it actually means that he cannot see daddy anymore on TV. Funny kid, he’s been expecting to see me on TV every day since then.
